2011

Adamed's new drug marketed - Zahron (Rosuvastatin) used in cardiology.




Sport success of volleyball team from Pabianice - after winning the elimination round the team is representing the Adamed Group in Corporate Championships in Krakow.

 

 

 

March - Adamed succeeds at the X Annual Polish Pharmaceutical Companies Alpine Skiing Championships

I place and championship in giant "power race" slalom relay race.


2010

Adamed receives "Friend of Polish Cardiology" title at the XIV International Polish Cardiac Society Congress which took place in Poznan.  

At the XXXI Polish Society of Lung Diseases Convention Adamed receives title of "Friend of Polish Pulmonology".
Forbes awards Adamed title of "Business Leader 2010"
In April 2010 Adamed is recognized as "Solid Employer 2009" and "Pharmaceutical Industry Solid Employer 2009".
Adamed Ski Team Success in Krynica. IX Pharmaceutical Companies Alpine Skiing Championships were held in Krynica Zdroj on March 12th-13th 2010. A big come back for Adamed after 6 years - bronze for Katarzyna Urban in Women's Giant Slalom and team silver in Relay Slalom race.
 
Adamed completes purchase of Agropharm S.A. This acquisition is yet another step, after purchase of Polfa Pabianice, in the direction of forming the Adamed Group. The aim is to diversify business operations in the OTC and diet supplements markets.
 

On February 4th, 2010, Chairman of Adamed, Mr. Maciej Adamkiewicz and Mr. Artur Wozniak, Chairman of the Polish Pharmaceutical Holding sign an agreement for the sale of Polfa Pabianice. Polfa becomes part of Adamed Group.

Adamed participates at a conference of the Polish Chamber of Commerce for High Technology, chaired by Prof. Jerzy Buzek. During panel discussion, Mr. Maciej Adamkiewicz, Chairman of Adamed as well as Mr. Krzysztof Kurowski, Director of Research and Development Division presented Adamed's history and plans of development until 2030.

2009

Adamed recognized as friend of Polish Cardiology at the opening of the XII International Polish Cardiac Society Congress in Poznan.
One of the sessions during the V Polish Perinatal Medicine Society Congress which took place on June 25-27 in Lodz was dedicated to the memory of Mr. Marian Adamkiewicz, founder of our company. Adamed was represented by Chairman, Mr. Maciej Adamkiewicz who was invited to participate by the Institute of Economics at the Polish Academy of Sciences.
During a seminar titled "What should the Innovation Strategy for Poland include?" Mr. Maciej Adamkiewicz received a certificate which recognizes "Golden Twenty Most Innovative Companies". The top twenty  was selected from amongst 216 companies.

This year we will begin clinical trials phase for an innovative therapy to be used in treating type 2 diabetes. Adamed is the first Polish pharmaceutical company to conduct research on an innovative drug for diabetes - from concept to preclinical trials at the company's R&D facilities. At the end of 2008 preclinical trails phase was completed.


Spain - Adamed opens its second, after Ukraine, foreign subsidiary. We opened an office and engaged a network of medical consultants who will be focusing on the segment of central nervous system therapy. In April two of Adamed's drug entered Spanish pharmacies. 


2008

The United States Patent and Trademark Office grants two more patents for new compounds developed in our laboratories. Patents received the following numbers: 7312338 and 7309791.
Cooperation with the Marek Kaminski Foundation. The main aim of the "Nadzieja dla serc" (Eng: Hope for Hearts) project is to give hope for a return to normal life to kids who are hospitalized for longer period of time. 
 
Adamed is the main organizer of a nationwide educational and informative program "Serce na nowo" (Eng: New Heart) which is directed to patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases, their families and employers. The aim of the program is to provide education about life and employment possibilities of these people. 

In recognition of cooperation with the Jagiellonian University Adamed receives the Syreniusz statue.

Together with researchers from the Collegium Medicum of the Jagiellonian University we officially inaugurated the project aimed at developing an innovative drug used in treating Central Nervous System diseases: schizophrenia, depression and anxiety. The project received funding from the state budget in the amount of 16.5 million PLN.

 

During the VI Multidisciplinary Conference on Drug Research
Mr. Maciej Adamkiewicz received the Stanislaw Biniecki medal
in recognition for support and achievements in research of new drugs.
  • Adamed opens new In Silico lab which will be used to design new chemical compounds with the use of the most advanced mathematical and IT methods.
  • In September we introduced a new drug on the market, ROZALIN, used in ophthalmology to treat glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

Our awards:

  • In recognition of our efforts to spread awareness and educate patients, our company received the prestigious title of "Friend of Polish Cardiology" from the Polish Cardiac Society.
  • During the autumn XXX Polish Society of Lung Disease Convention which took place in Katowice, Adamed was awarded the  title of Friend of Polish Pulmonology.
  • At the II Polish Society of Allergology Training Conference Adamed receives title of Friend of Polish Allergology.

2007

Adamed launches new drug on Polish market - Axtil - modern therapy used to treat cardiovascular system diseases, i.e. hypertension, heart failure, ischemic heart disease and diseases after myocardial infarctions.
Adamed begins sales of gastroenterological drug Anesteloc on Polish market. Therapy used in treating diseases of upper gastrointestinal tract such as gastroesophageal reflux disease and peptic ulcers.
United States Patent and Trademark Office grants Adamed patent for a group of compounds that may become the base for a new innovative drug to treat type 2 diabetes. Patent published with number US 7,220,766.
Adamed in cooperation with the University of Warsaw University Technology Transfer Center initiates EU project "Staż dla innowacji" (Innovation Internships).
 
As part of the program, the company hires a few young researchers who for  six months will be able to gain practical experience in the Research and Development Department at Adamed.
Innovative antineoplastic research project 3CLA included by Minister for Regional Development on list of biggest Polish investments key projects financed with EU funding as part of the Operational Program 'Innovative Economy' 2007 - 2013. 
Adamed begins cooperation with National Cancer Institute , one of the biggest government organizations in the United States focused on medical research and health protection. Cooperation is focused on research of new therapies to treat cancer. 
"In Search of the Golden One - Nationwide Research Project Competition" initiated. Program is aimed at research groups in Poland - medical, pharmaceutical, biological and biotechnological research centers and scientists. Honorary Patronage held by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education as well as Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. 

Our awards:

Innovation Certificate in the II edition of "Research program for innovation of Polish economy" organized by Institute of Economics at the Polish Academy of Sciences and Gazeta Prawna with support from BRE Bank S.A. Adamed recognized in "Most Innovative Companies in Pharmaceutical Industry" category, taking second place. Fourth place in 500 most innovative companies ranking "Kamerton innowacyjnosci" of Mazovian province.

2006

Awareness campaign 
"Dobrze Spij - Aktywnie Zyj" (Sleep Well - Live Actively) initiated focused on educating about insomnia.
Adamed opens subsidiary office in the Ukraine. First drug registered on that market is Zafiron, drug used to treat pulmonary diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Adamed takes part in Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates (SUNA) conference in New York, presenting results of clinical trials of Polish innovative therapy Colpexin used in treating pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence.Active Substances Synthesis Department receives Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certificate confirming global standards in manufacturing of active substances.  Adamed introduces new cardiology drug - Areplex which prevents atherothrombosis in the brain, heart and  coronary arteries. European Union funding granted for innovative Polish drug project for type 2 diabetes prepared by scientific consortium comprising of: Adamed which acts as the coordinator and  leading research centers in Poland - University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University and Medical University of Gdansk.   Adamed celebrates 20th anniversary on the Polish pharmaceutical market. Celebrations were held at the Congress Hall at the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw.

Zloty Orbital - award in "product or implemented technology". Company recognized for adherence to the highest standards in drug Amlozek as well as meeting Good Manufacturing Practice and EU standards in promoting the product in the European Union. 

2005

Adamed registers Amlozek on Scandinavian market. Decision to enter the Finnish market is the result of Adamed's participation at the biggest international pharmaceutical industry expo CPhI Worldwide 2002 which took place in Paris.

Adamed joins the Polish Innovative Medicine Platform. Adamed is both a member and founder of the Initiative Group of the Polish Technological Innovative Medicine Platform under the patronage of the Minister of Health and Minister of Science and Informatization. Agreement to form the platform was signed at the Ministry of Health by the biggest Polish pharmaceutical and biotechnological companies investing in research. The platform aims to define a strategic development program for the Polish medical industry as well as major goals for researching new drugs in Poland which should receive support from the Polish government and the European Union.

Adamed Incorporated, registered in Rutherford New Jersey, USA, begin operations. Subsidiary company of Polish Adamed. Focused on marketing Colpexin on the American market. Participation in international pharmaceutical industry expo CPhL Worldwide (Conference on Pharmaceutical Ingredients) in Madrid. 

Adamed markets on Polish market another next generation drug - Selofen - used in treating insomnia.

Our awards:

Europrodukt (Europroduct) - recognized in competition by Polish Trade Society - Amlozek, a drug to treat hypertension.

Euromarka (Eurobrand) - Amlozek recognized as well as special award for Adamed for its social awareness campaigns.

Gazele Biznesu - recognized in ranking by "Puls Biznesu" (daily newspaper). For the third time Adamed recognized as one of the most dynamic companies in 2005.



 

2004

Adamed receives FDA approval for Colpexin an innovative device used in treating pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence. Preparations to market Colpexin on the US market. 

Adamed register subsidiary in Saudi Arabia. Becomes first Polish pharmaceutical company present on that market. Result of joint economic mission efforts by the Polish government and Polish Chamber of Commerce.

Adamed admitted to European Generic medicines Association (EGA) which represents generic medicines pharmaceutical industry in the European Union. Mission of the organization is to ensure access to medicines for patients in Europe. 

Adamed becomes partner of nationwide program to counter Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease "Gleboki Oddech" (Deep Breath), organized by Polish Society of Lung Diseases. Program aims to increase awareness about COPD, its symptoms, causes and consequences.

Official opening of the first "Centrum Pomocy" (Aid Station) in Galeria Mokotow shopping center in Warsaw, which was organized as part of the Nationwide Program for Change of Attitude Towards Psychiatry "Odnalezc siebie" (Finding yourself). The main goal of the program is to break social barriers related to treating psychiatric disorders. 

Adamed signs cooperation agreement with the Pharmaceutical Institute to quicken the research process for new drugs in Poland. Cooperation is to be long-term and will see partnership between staff from the R&D and researchers from the Institute.

Dobra Firma Award (Good Company) - awarded by Rzeczpospolita newspaper to one of twenty most dynamically developing Polish companies.

Gazele Biznesu - recognition by Puls Biznesu newspaper. Adamed once again awarded as one of the most dynamically developing Polish companies in 2004.


2003

Adamed begins export sales in Europe and registers its first drug in Croatia. Next, Amlozek manufactured by Adamed as the first Polish Rx enters the European Union market. Its successful registration and marketing of the product in Portugal means that the Polish company can compete on the EU markets long before Poland enters the EU.

Adamed markets new drug on Polish market - Zafiron, used in treating asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Adamed presents Colpexin (Kolpexin) - an innovative, non-invasive method to treat pelvic organ prolapse at the V International Innovation - Inventions Expo. Patronage of the event: Polish Association of Inventors and Innovators. Honorary committee members include: Minister of Commerce, Minister of Employment and Social Policy, Minister of Science and Chairman of Polish Patent Office.

Opening of new Pilot Scale Synthesis Department in Ksawerow at the Lodz Special Economic Zone.

The Cleveland Clinic publishes results of new Polish therapy Colpexin clinical trials developed by founders of Adamed. According to trials coordinator Prof. Willy Davila the new method is a great breakthrough in medicine on a global scale and at the same time is a great hope for many women suffering from  pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence in returning to an active lifestyle.

Participation in international pharmaceutical industry expo CPhL Worldwide (Conference on Pharmaceutical Ingredients) in Frankfurt.

2002 - 2001

Adamed participates in international pharmaceutical industry expo CPhL Worldwide (Conference on Pharmaceutical Ingredients) which took place in London. Each year over 20 000 visitors from 110 countries and over 1000 companies / exhibitors participate in the event.

Adamed's second plant opened in Ksawerow at the Lodz Special Economic Zone.

Adamed develops new, intravaginal form of Luteina and markets it on the Polish market.

Adamed registers Zolafren - next generation schizophrenia medication. By distributing this product to pharmacies, Adamed expands its activities by another therapeutic group - psychiatry.

2000 - 1997

2000  Company expands its portfolio with a new hormone product containing natural micronized progesterone - Luteina - sublingual tablets. It is an innovative drug used in hormone replacement therapy in women after menopause and in treatment of menstrual disorders and infertility in women.

New drug introduced by Adamed - Xartan. Currently it is one of the most modern cardiological drugs on the Polish market. According to recommendations published in the seventh Joint National Committee report published in the US on preventing, diagnosing and treating hypertension, the group of drugs to which Xartan belongs to is the first choice in treating such diseases. These recommendations developed by, amongst others, the National Institute of Health were approved by the Polish Cardiac Society.

Company receives GMP certificate which confirms that Adamed has implemented EU standards in drug manufacturing.

1998  Adamed introduces first cardiology drug - Amlozek - used in treating hypertension and ischemic heart disease. The drug gives patients better access to modern therapy and in a short time frame almost half a million Polish people start using it.

1997 Adamed expands its gynecological drug portfolio introducing matrix transdermal patch with 17β-estradiol under the name of Estroplast in hormone replacement therapy.

 


1996 - 1986

1996 - Company transformed into Limited Liability Company


1994 - Adamed relocates to new headquarters in Pienkow near Warsaw. New manufacturing plant is opened.


1991 - Introduction of first drug on market - Furaginum - one of the most known drugs to treat urinary tract infections. The drug quickly gains a leading position on the market.


1986 - Dr. Marian Adamkiewicz, MD, founds Adamed. At first the company specialized in manufacturing gynecology products and medical equipment.
