Among the Polish pharmaceutical companies, we are definitely a leader of investments in research aimed at invention of the new drugs. We have been developing our research and development departments, we have been improving our laboratory facilities, and we offer a job to Polish scientists. Our Research & Development Department has been established to search for effective and modern therapies in the selected therapeutic groups (we are searching the new molecule), and to elaborate and implement modern generic drugs.
Within the recent three years we have spent for our research and development program over 70 million zloty. 22 new patent motions for registration of active substances and our own formulas of the drugs constitute the effects of our efforts.
Biological and chemical laboratories of Adamed Company are fully adapted to meet the standards applicable in the European Union. We also have one of the most modern Polish laboratories dealing with microbiological control of the quality of products, raw materials, packaging, water, air, premises and personnel on each stage of the drug production process. In January 2000, we also opened our specialized isotope laboratory, certified by the Polish Agency of Atomic Energy.
We have been cooperating with the leading Polish clinics affiliated at medical academies and scientific institutes in Warsaw, Poznań, Wroc³aw and Lublin. We also conducted a multi-center clinical research in the United States of America: in Cleveland Clinic on the Florida, in Colorado Gynecology and Continence Center as well as in Evaston Continence Center. The research works were conducted pursuant to the applicable American standards of the Food and Drug Administration, under scientific supervision of Professor Guillermo Willy Davil who is the world authority in the field of urogynecology. Our tests were focused on an innovative product, which is aimed at prevention and treatment of urinary incontinence. In 2005 we launched on the American market our new product - Kolpexin.
The goal of clinical tests in the field of gynecology is to provide a comprehensive evaluation of innovative drugs. We executed - among others - some clinical tests, performed in the 3rd Clinic for Gynecology of the Lublin Medical University, which proved supreme efficacy and safety of our innovative therapy using an intra-vaginal form of progesterone.
Our research and development programs, conducted for cardiologic medications, evaluate the efficacy and many other clinical parameters, as well as an influence of the drugs upon the quality of life of patients suffering from blood hypertension. We have been also conducting clinical test in the field of psychiatry. Results of observation of Zolafren vis-a-vis perasine prove therapeutic efficacy of this Polish olanzapine.
