Another edition of the "Serce na nowo" educational programA new edition of our company's education program "Serce na nowo" has been just launched. The aim of the program is to educate society about activeness of people with cardiovascular diseases and fight stereotypes that claim that individuals suffering from cardiovascular ailments cannot lead an active lifestyle. The program also helps people with cardiovascular diseases to get help of specialists. Thanks to the right therapy supported by nonpharmacological means, the chances to return to an active lifestyle and working life are increased.
As part of the "Serce na nowo" nationwide program, a series of free-of-charge cardiological consultations will be held for patients, which will primarily aim to perform echocardiograms and to educate individuals about how to actively live with heart disease. Cardiological consultations are directed at patients located in small and medium-sized towns and villages, which have limited access to specialized medical services. For the first half of 2009 we have planned approximately 60 such meetings. The dates will be announced directly by clinics where the cardiological consultations are to be held. One of the basic aims of these consultations is to perform an echocardiogram. This will allow to examine the state and function irregularities of particular parts of the heart (muscle, mitral valves, arteries and flow of blood). This examination is non-invasive, does not hurt and lasts about 30 minutes.
