INSIDE - new brand of innovative dermocosmetics was presented to the members of the media during a press meeting titled "Its what's on the inside that counts" which took place on June 10th at the Zamojski's Palace in Warsaw. To a crowd of journalists and experts Adamed presented its extensive experience in the medical field, which was used to create three INSIDE product lines.
Ms. Magda Molek took the guests on a journey into the world of INSIDE dermocosmetics, for whom the idea of professional skin care with the use of these products is very close. Ms. Molek, a journalist herself, praised the practical and safe packaging as well as the wonderful effects INSIDE products had on her skin. Our dermocosmetics are the only brand on the market, which was created by a research laboratory of a Polish pharmaceutical company, and is a direct response to the growing needs of women today - underlined Mrs. Malgorzata Adamkiewicz, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Adamed Group. Right now there are three product lines of the INSIDE brand: Prebiotine, Synactive 30+, Synactive 40+. Prebiotine is a line of innovative dermocosmetics for skin with acne problems. Synactive 30+ and Synactive 40+ were created with effective skin care for over 30 and 40 year olds in mind.
According to Dr. Urszula Kozlowska, dermatologist, who was present at the meeting on Thursday - the key to caring for skin with acne problems is to restore the natural balance and providing a moisturizing effect at the same time. Its part of proper therapy of acne-prone skin. Up to now, products on the market did not provide that.
Mr. Zbigniew Majka from the R&D Department - the creator of the innovative ideas behind INSIDE, described and showed the ingredients used in the dermocosmetics. As part of the finale, Mrs. Aleksandra Gajda from Adamed Consumer Healthcare presented the entire INSIDE product line.
With the end of the official part of the breakfast, those interested were invited for dermoconsultations to check the parameters of their skin with the use of specialized equipment and receiving advice on proper skin care.
Despite the surprisingly hot weather, guest attendance was high and the INSIDE breakfast was a hit for its fresh and elegant setting. Journalists in attendance stressed the fact that very rarely do they have such an opportunity to thoroughly learn about innovative solutions and ingredients of dermocosmetics and have a chance to directly speak to the creators of such products. Undoubtedly, the Polish roots of the INISDE brand are significant, which are strengthened by the professional and innovative approach - equal to that of international brands, which was observed by a number of the journalists.

Adamed placed first in the "Most Innovative Companies in Poland" ranking for 2008 and was awarded the "Most Innovative Company in the Pharmaceutical Industry" certificate. The report with the ranking of the most innovative companies was published and officially presented on May 13th 2010 by the Institute of Economics at the Polish Academy of Sciences (INE PAN).
During the seminar organized by the Institute of Economics at the Polish Academy of Sciences titled "Innovations in Poland in 2009", Mr. Maciej Adamkiewicz, Chairman of Adamed, was presented with two awards: for "Most Innovative Company in Poland" in 2008 as well as "Most Innovative Company in the Pharmaceutical Industry" in 2008.
The "Innovative Companies Report", together with a number of INE PAN seminars, is an element in an initiative to socially integrate public institutions, scientific centers and innovative companies, which will allow to devise the foundations of the "Innovation Strategy for Poland".
The Institute of Economics at the Polish Academy of Sciences conducts scientific research in the area of economic theory and economic analyses as well as is involved in educating about economics and promoting Polish achievements abroad.

The latest achievement of Adamed's laboratories is the creation of the Inside brand which allows us to take our experience in the medicines market and bring it to the world of dermocosmetics. On April 13th, sales of the dermocosmetic products began in pharmacies across Poland.
Its what's on the inside that counts is the brands philosophy. With that in mind, Inside products contain patented ingredients, which are the latest achievements in medicine and cosmetology.
At present we introduced 3 lines of products: antiacne as well as 2 anti wrinkle lines for 30+ and 40+ age groups.
Soon the portfolio will be enlarged with more products, which are being developed in our labs right now. All Inside products are hypoallergic, unscented and do not contain parabens.
Safety and effectiveness of Inside products have been confirmed in dermatological and allergy tests.

After recent successes of our Adamed Ski Team, members of the Adamed Marathon Club began their season very actively. With winter break coming to an end, first races for our athletes began on March 28th, 2010 in the V Carrefour Warsaw Half-Marathon 2010. The 21 km 97.5 m race saw 3 500 runners, of which approximately 2100 broke the two-hour barrier. Our colleagues, Andrzej Gondek, Slawomir Domina and Waldemar Jozwik, achieved great results, having ranked in the 4th and 5th hundred, with a time of about 1:35:00.
On April 25th, Adamed Marathon Club, strengthened by our colleague, Joanna Zygmanska, took part in the IX Cracovia Marathon. The route of the run started out from Blonie to Nowa Huta and back, through Krakow's historical streets. Our runners once again proved that the right preparation, training, spirit and will to fight lead them to success. Running a marathon requires a great effort and readiness to overcome personal weaknesses during training and the run itself. Therefore, its not the results on the podium but the very fact of completing the race and improving personal records are the greatest achievement and reason for satisfaction as well as a source of great pride for us. Our runners achieved times below 4 hours. Special words of recognition for Joanna who ranked second amongst runners from Adamed. Congratulations! Soon another battle begins during the Warsaw Marathon and a fight with a distance of 42km 195m.

In line with Adamed's development strategy, a new department was formed - Adamed Consumer Healthcare. It is built on strong foundations of our company's scientific research, production and distribution of prescription medication (Rx).
Development of Adamed's Consumer Healthcare division will be focused on three product groups:
Over The Counter (OTC) drugs, non-prescription medicine market,
Diet supplements acquired with the takeover of Agropharm,
Innovative dermocosmetics developed by the R&D Department of our company
The first two segments which include OTC drugs acquired as part of the takeover: Oeparol which contains a high number of Essential Fatty Acids (EFA) - Omega 6 as well as products which ideally fit into Adamed's Rx product offer due to their therapeutic indications. Brands such are Aronox and Polikardonox are complimentary to our cardiology line, whereas Aronia with lutein fit into our ocular range of medicines.
The innovative INSIDE brand brings Adamed's experience in the medical market into the world of dermocosmetics. In line with the brand's philosophy Its what's on the inside that counts, INSIDE cosmetics contain patented ingredients, which are the most innovative solutions in the area of medicine and cosmetology. Our company was awarded the title of "Solid Employer 2009" in the nationwide category as part of the VI contest organized by editorial office of "Rzecz o Biznesie" - supplement to "Rzeczpospolita" newspaper. This award recognizes Adamed's efforts for the benefit of the employees.

On March 17th the "New decade - time for innovations" conference was held in Warsaw. The conference was opened with a panel discussion between Maciej Adamkiewicz - Adamed's Chairman of the Management Board, Dr. Konrad Marchlewski, Vice Chairman of Atlas Sp. o.o., Jacek Murawski - Investment Partner MCI Management S.A. and Prof. Tadeusz Tyszka - Director of Centre of Economic Psychology and Decision Sciences at the Kozminski University. The discussion was led by Tadeusz Mosz - author and host of "Plus Minus" an economic-focus television program and Radio TOK FM host.
Leading topic of the conference was the search for new opportunities that arose for Polish companies as a result of events that took place on the market in the past few months. Experience related to the crisis clearly showed how important management based on knowledge is for a company to survive on the market and develop its competitive advantage.
Over four hundred participants took part in the conference - including managers, strategists and specialists in finance, marketing, sales, risk managements, human resources, IT from companies and institutions in banking, insurance, telecommunication, energy, industry, pharmaceutical and public sectors.

On March 12th and 13th 2010 in Krynica Zdroj, the IX Polish Pharmaceutical Companies Alpine Skiing Championships were held. Its a big comeback for Adamed after 6 years - bronze for Katarzyna Urban in Women's Giant Slalom and team silver in Parallel Slalom - Team Relay.
Sixty women and 135 men from twenty-seven pharmaceutical companies competed in the Giant Slalom races. After the first run both of our representatives, Katarzyna Urban and Oliwia Mokrus, ranked in the top fifteen. The real battle went down in the second run which decided the winners of the event. Katarzyna Urban finished third and won a bronze medal.
In the Plus Power Race Parallel Slalom - Team Relay, after the elimination round we entered the competition with the second best time to the top sixteen. Our team comprised of Katarzyna Urban, Oliwia Mokrus, Piotr Ruman, Bartosz Komendera, Grzegorz Zapala and Grzegorz Michniewski at first competed with Novartis. In quarterfinals we took on one of the favourites of the tournament, Sandoz. After dramatically fighting for the spot, we managed to move onto the semi-finals. From an unknown team we went to being one of the possible winners. We beat out Abbott in semi-finals and ended up against Polpharma in the finals. After 8 hours of competing it was snowing, getting dark and cold. We crossed the finish line second with a difference of 14 hundredths of a second. Then the organizer, after completing a test run rightfully concluded that the competition should close due to dangerous conditions on the slope. This took away our chances for a second run and revenge.
Adamed's success in the championships after six years of absence is a great success. Great effort and team spirit gave us these results. Adamed's enthusiasm and spirit was successful once again. |

A natural development path of our company for introducing an innovative drug on the global market is focusing on strengthening our market position and ensuring resources to conduct scientific research.
Purchase of Agropharm SA, after buying Polfa Pabianice, is another step towards creating a pharmaceutical Grupa Adamed (Adamed Group). Our aim is to diversify our operation by expanding to OTC drugs and diet supplements.
Take over of Agropharm SA's shares will allow to widen our portfolio in the over the counter drugs and diet supplements. As a result, our offer will significantly strengthen our position in these segments. It is a new branch of operation for our which is handled by newly created department - Adamed Consumer Healthcare.
Similarly to Polfa Pabianice, decision to purchase of Agropharm was based on product and market synergy analysis as well as the fact that thanks to the expanded research laboratory, we can offer products with a guaranteed quality and efficacy.
After taking over Agropharm, Grupa Adamed will be comprised of: Adamed, Polfa Pabianice, and Agropharm, with a total of 1700 employees where 880 work at Adamed, about 780 in Polfa Pabianice and approximately 110 at Agropharm. Thanks to this fusion Adamed will gain access to new facilities in the Lodz voivodeship as well as access to new technologies. |
